For additional help, we have compiled some resources below to help provide resources and care for you.
Counseling
We are not meant to carry our burdens alone (Galatians 6:2). Counseling can be a beneficial space to share your challenges and receive support.
Counseling can come in different forms. This page contains recommendations for both Licensed Mental Health Professionals in the area, and Pastoral/Lay Counselors and Spiritual Directors in the area. See below for an explanation of these terms.
Licensed Mental Health Professionals have a Master’s Degree (or higher) in a mental health field and have gone through the necessary steps to become licensed in the state of Oregon.
*Looking for a less expensive mental health counseling option? Ask these sites about associate counselors and student interns. These are professionals either working towards completing their master’s or, having completed their master’s, are working towards licensure. These professionals often provide mental health services at a reduced rate.*
Pastoral/Lay Counseling and Spiritual Directors
Pastoral/Lay Counselors and Spiritual Directors are individuals who have completed training through a church or other organization to provide care. The required education to provide this care varies across organizations.
